Pictorial Tuesday ~ The Interesting of Nature

So, I was picking dead flowers out of my flower boxes, and then I saw this...?? I called hubby out and said "What is this thing?" He told me it was a grasshopper. It looked all upside down to me and I finally figured out that it was hanging onto a green leaf of my flower plant. He held on to it all that day, and the next, and next. I don't know how long he had been there originally. He is now gone from my plant. Nature sure does have some weird looking insects or whatever is the correct name for this thing. Anyway, not sure what he was doing or what use he serves, but I was glad I hadn't wrapped my hand around that part of the plant to pull it out. haha

Pictorial Tuesday 10 10 17

When I looked out and the sun was casting such a pretty glow, I had to grab the camera. Wish I could have captured it better because the way the sun was shining over the field was very pretty.

Sunday Scripture Blessings 10 8 17

Sharing some of my Bible Journaling pages. Some I do in my Bible, others I do in a journal. If you like to make your own journals, I've purchased books really reasonable at Goodwill when they're having a sale: you can take the pages out and put your own blank pages in and then decorate the cover however you like. There are many examples on YouTube of how to sew in the pages or by other methods.  Below is one that I made, but I only finished the edge and didn't totally decorate the book cover.

But God, who is rich in mercy, for his great love wherewith he loved us,
Even when we were dead in sins, hath quickened us together with Christ,
(by grace ye are saved). Ephesians 2:4-5 KJV

For this cause I bow my knees unto the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, Of whom the whole family in heaven and earth is named, That he would grant you, according to the riches of his glory, to be strengthened with might by his Spirit in the inner man; That Christ may dwell in your hearts by faith; that ye, being rooted and grounded in love, May be able to comprehend with all saints what is the breadth, and length, and depth, and height; And to know the love of Christ, which passeth knowledge, that ye might be filled with all the fullness of God. Ephesians 3:14-19 KJV

The Warmth
The Nature of your Love
Warms me as no other rays of Sun

Your hug

Sunday Scripture Blessings 10 1 17

Wherefore the law was our schoolmaster to bring us unto Christ that we might be justified by faith.
But the scripture hath concluded all under sin, that the promise by faith of Jesus Christ might be given to them that believe. But before faith came, we were kept under the law, shut up unto the faith which should afterwards be revealed. For ye are all the children of God by faith in Christ Jesus. But after that faith is come, we are no longer under a schoolmaster. There is neither Jew nor Greek, there is neither bond nor free, there is neither male nor female: for ye are all one in Christ Jesus.
Galatians 3:19-29 KJV

My Mailbox, a $10 dollar bill, and a prayer:

A few Springtime's ago around Easter, I attended Church with my son who was visiting from California. It was sentimental because he had come to spend time with us and he had brought our youngest grand-daughter who we'd rarely seen since she was born. She was now two at the time. Anyway, after that Church service that day, the cemetery where my mom is buried is on the way home. (My son had stayed after Church to visit some of his friends there, and I went on my way.)

I stopped at the cemetery to visit her grave since I rarely go there. Anyway, while there, I had the biggest urge to pray to Jesus and ask him to show me that my mom was with him (I assumed she was) and okay. In tears, I prayed fervently and said, Jesus, I know you have the power to show me that she is okay. I continued to visit and have my tearful time of missing my mom.

Then, I headed home to finish preparations for our Easter dinner. With dinner and days that past, I had forgotten my prayer.

It was a few days later that when I went to the mailbox, and looked down right in front of it, lay a $10 bill. Now, there is nothing across our road and behind our mailbox but an empty farm fields. On one side of our place is an abandoned building on that lot, and one neighbor to the other side. We are pretty much surrounded by farm fields. I then told my husband and son about my prayer and I considered it an answer/a sign. My husband laughed and said, your mom didn't throw down a $10 bill. He's very much a doubter. :)

My son suggested that I ask the only ones that would be going down our road and by our mailbox. The one that hangs a weekly paper on the mailbox hook, and our mail person. I did, and neither said they had lost any money that week.

Now, I know my mom didn't throw down a $10 to me to show she's okay, but I take it as a sign. However it got there, in our 35 years of living here, I've never found money outside our house or by the mailbox. So I'm claiming it as an answer to my prayer. I knew my mom was okay, but was nice to think Jesus heard my plea/prayer that day and needed some comforting. Miracles do happen, even small ones.

I, for some reason, find it hard to use this $10. It has been on my refrigerator for the past 3 years. Every time my son visits now, he comments that I still have that $10. May find a way to pass it forward to someone who needs a blessing.

The mailbox where the $10 lay folded on the ground right in front.

Pictorial Tuesday and a Free Gift 9 25

Fall has arrived but the temperatures are still in the upper 80's and low 90's. We had Fall weather at the end of August and now last week and this, it is like mid Summer weather. I'll take it, but really prefer the crisper mid 80's and 70's for Fall. It's really just too hot to get into anything outside. We did manage to get the above ground pool taken down, and it will be thrown away. It's just the vinyl one that is 4 ft deep by 15ft, I think. We've had one for several years, and they're nice, but just too expensive to have the water hauled plus too much work for we older folks.

I made this Fall digital kit that I'm sharing as a free kit (minus the baby picture). It will have the elements, and you can insert a picture in the frame or just put some word quotes, etc. Hope you enjoy. The shadow of the boy with the string to the balloon is actually taken from a photo that I took of kids playing with balloons at a graduation party and the picture turned out really dark, but I was able to extract the kid's shadows from it to use in my digital scrapping.

You can download the Fall Kit HERE
I look forward to what everyone is sharing this week.

Sharing a Tip:
When I picked the wrapping paper for the grand-daughter's birthday present, I wanted ribbon to match. The Dollar Tree had some that were curly, but I decided if I bought the same or matching paper that I wrapped the presents in, I could make my own. I used my paper shredder and put some pieces through, and then with my scissors I ran the edge gently along to curl the pieces of paper. Then I gathered them to put on the presents. I have, in the past, also shredded wrapping paper to top off a present that is in a gift bag.

I shared the tip for the bag toppers at my other site, but am sharing it here also:

I saw on The Spotted Canary television show this nifty way to present a gift in a bag without having to purchase the tissue that is usually just tossed away.  Here are a couple copies of the bag that I decorated for my daughter-in-law’s birthday gift. I think it’s so much more clever than the usual, and it gives them a closure to keep for their next gift bag present.
Bag Topper Lisa

To make these toppers, you make your design on cardstock decorating the same on each side of the cardstock fold in half. Then you measure the width of the handles, and with an exacto knife make a slit in the fold. Then you can simply slip your decorated cardstock over the handles and it will cover the top of the bag. I love this idea for all occasions and at Christmas.

(I didn't link the Spotted Canary because when I checked, it seems their link is no longer live. Use to enjoy their tips when they were on television on PBS.)

Happy Crafting

Sunday Scripture Blessings 9 17 You're The Breath

I have to admit there is no way that I can sing all the way through or even listen to this song without the tears flowing. He IS the BREATH in OUR LUNGS

He breathed life into us even before we were born as we lay in our mother's womb. He breathed life into our lungs as we emerged into this world, and the most awesome part of his breath was when he took his last on the cross, he breathed life into our lungs as Christians.

You give life, You are love
You bring light to the darkness
You give hope, You restore
Every heart that is broken
Great are you Lord
Cause
It's Your breath in our lungs
So we pour out our praise, we pour out our praise
It's Your breath in our lungs
So we pour out our praise to You only
You give life, You are love
You bring light to the darkness
You give hope, You restore
Every heart that is broken
Great are you Lord

It's Your breath in our lungs
So we pour out our praise, we pour out our praise
It's Your breath in our lungs
So we pour out our praise to You only
It's Your breath in our lungs
So we pour out our praise, we pour out our praise
It's Your breath in our lungs
So we pour out our praise to You only
-instruments only-
All the earth will shout your praise
Our hearts will cry, these bones will sing
Great are you Lord

It's Your breath in our lungs
So we pour out our praise, we pour out our praise
It's Your breath in our lungs
So we pour out our praise to You only
x's 6
Pour out our praise to You only
Pour out our praise to You only

On this Sunday or any day as I listen to this song, I can only say Thank You Jesus for the last breath and first breath on the cross. Amen

I APOLOGIZE to those who came to link up with Pictorial Tuesday. The inlinkz link wasn't working and not sure why. I put in a ticket and it has been fixed. I also apologize to those who did come and get their link in and then it was eliminated. If you still want to link, there is still time as I have extended it, but if not, I sincerely hope you will return next Tuesday.

Our local State Park Lake doesn't have much in the way of beautiful scenery, but people have always enjoyed camping, boating, and fishing as well as walking the trails and other activities of a State Park. This day, hubby and I were fishing, but as always, I take along my camera. I sometimes use my phone camera, but being outside just isn't the best for seeing the screen on a warm Summer's day so this day I took along my older digital.

I was surprised to see what the camera saw that I didn't until I came home and downloaded the photos to the desktop. On the bottom photo, I see that there are a couple of guys fishing on the bank. We were out in the boat quite a way away, and I could hear them, but not see them so clearly. However, my zoom on my camera did a great job of seeing them in the background when I was trying to take a photo of these two birds. So fun what the camera sees vs our eyes.

It was a great day to be outdoors on the water even if the fish weren't really biting. Some of my first dates with my hubby some 54 years ago was his introducing me to fishing. We have gone ever since. I ended up even putting my own worm on the hook after some years; especially when our sons were young because the hubs had enough with helping two little boys. I've taken fish off, but only will take a catfish off if I have a heavy glove.

Now that's my fishing story, and I'm sticking to it. Also, might as well say the one fish I caught was humongous.....(fish tale there). It was nice, but not huge. haha

So, that was our Lake Day last week-end, and some of my photos for the week. Looking forward to what you've been up to shooting and hopefully can share with Pictorial Tuesday.
